InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza

Really impressed with the InterContinental Kansas City. The stunning lobby and bar area make a great first impression, and the staff were friendly throughout our stay. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, offering plenty of room to relax. The hotel is perfectly located near the Country Club Plaza, making it easy to explore shops and restaurants. A great stay overall with just a few small touches away from being perfect!

I won a one night stay at the Intercontinental Hotel, which included valet and breakfast. It almost expired on me, So, I decided to use it for my Birthday, which was February 12, 2026. My stay was absolutely amazing!! The staff was stellar! The staff gave me top notch service! The valet was perfect! The front desk staff Ericka and Reid, made check in a breeze! They were so sweet polite courteous professional and attentive! When I got to my room, it was just right! I had the perfect view! I must finger out wat king of mattress and pillows they put on the bedd. It was the most comfortable EVER!!! The staff also surprised me with a bottle of Red Wine, Cab...dry....my favorite! And an amazing charcuterie tray. Boy, was I surprised! I Loved it! The InterContinental also included a birthday card signed by the entire staff. Superb, is what i call it. Supreme! Thanks to you all! Roxanne, in their restaurant went over and beyond to make my birthday so very special....wine, food, photos. Great service! We had a lovely stay at the Plaza last night to enjoy the lights at the Country Club Plaza. The room was spacious and clean, the check in easy and friendly. The front desk followed up via text to make sure our room was what we hoped for! Good in room coffee but real creamers would have been nice with the Keirig! Bed was comfortable, plenty of outlets and nice smelling bottled bath amenities. Cozy bar and patio off the lobby. Can't beat the location!

I’ve been staying at the InterContinental on the Country Club Plaza every time I return to my hometown of Kansas City since the early 2000s, and it has always felt like home. The service is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the location truly cannot be beat. Being right on the Plaza puts you in the heart of everything, and the hotel somehow manages to feel both vibrant and relaxing at the same time. After all these years, it remains my go-to place to stay in Kansas City and continues to set the standard for what a great hotel experience should be.

Overall a great stay at the intercontinental on the plaza. I was surprised by an unrequested upgrade to the club level, especially since I was staying on a Chase rewards night. The hotel is in an excellent location and close walking distance to all of the plaza amenities. The lobby and overall facility are excellent. The room was also really nice, it was spacious and clean. Minor complaints all relate to the bathroom and the large amount of caulking that was used to cover poor quality renovation. I'm also not a fan of the wall, mounted bathroom amenity soaps as they're difficult for the small children to reach when they're trying to wash their hands and seam less sanitary than individually wrapped ones. We did visit the pool while we were there and that was a great experience, a very cool pool area. The club lounge was nice, it seemed mostly geared towards adult beverages. We visited it for breakfast which was good as they had eggs, sausage, bacon and breakfast potatoes in addition to some pastries. We also visited it for dessert hour which was just a few small desserts but a large liquor selection that didn't really apply to us since we don't drink. The best perk for my perspective was the mini fridge they kept stocked with diet Coke. Overall would recommend, great stay.

Tracey was absolutely amazing! We were in town for a trip, and she truly made our stay unforgettable. From crafting the perfect morning matcha with Prosperity to mixing the freshest mojitos with garden-picked mint, her drinks were some of the best we’ve ever had. Tracey wasn’t just our bartender and barista- she brought incredible energy and warmth every single day. The space itself was beautiful, but it was her personality that made the experience truly special. Highly recommend stopping in and saying hi to Tracey- whether you find her poolside or behind the bar, you’re in for something memorable!

I was truly impressed by the outstanding service from the entire staff! At check-in, Antonio greeted me warmly and set me up with a beautiful room featuring a great view, along with a welcome drink. Brooke, the barista, made my mornings special with her delicious custom coffee at the bar. Happy Hour on the 11th floor was a treat—Don’s cheerful personality and singing made it even more enjoyable. Tyrone at the front desk was always ready to help, whether it was with keys or anything else I needed. Even the valet team went above and beyond, stepping in to assist when my Uber or Lyft was delayed. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat—simply for the exceptional service!

When I read the other reviews I was skeptical because they kept talking about the hotel needing updates but it felt like a classy, upscale boutique hotel to me!! I love the marble tiles, crown molding, balconies. I have stayed in a lot of hotel and the cookie cutter hotels just aren't the same. The lounge was amazing that evening and we had the best time having dessert. Breakfast was fresh. They provided real eggs, yogurt, bacon, and many other things. If I am in Kansas City, I will be staying here again. Would definitely recommend.
